This basement room was planned as a theater from the initial architectural planning stages. Components were placed in two vertical rows to the left of the screen for easy access. A full closet behind the screen allows for simple access for service and changes to the system. Two different Audio Control equalizer systems were installed, one optimized for two channel audio playback and the other for five channel THX movie soundtrack presentation.
A simple menu-driven LCD control panel allows even a novice to choose what to do (watch satellite TV, listen to CD player, etc.) and the entire system automatically responds. The lighting for the room is tied to the system so that the lights dim when the projector comes on, and goes to half-brightness when the DVD player is paused.
